So, I found this Q&A on Jess' page over at Jess Hearts Books. I filled out this very lengthy questionnaire because it's fun to answer questions about yourself but I do realize that it isn't always so fun to read that much about someone else! But I did it anyway. And I know this is posting on Friday but it was Thursday night when I started!
1. Favorite childhood book?
American Rabbit in the Case of the Missing Moose. My mom did great voices for all the characters! I saved it and now I read it to my daughter!
2. What are you reading right now?
I should be reading Valiant by Holly Black but I'm procrastinating on starting it
3. What books do you have on request at the library?
None. I actually just signed up at the library today.
4. Bad book habit?
Buying them faster than I can read them!
5. What do you currently have checked out from the library?
A Pony for Princess and Cinderella (for my daughter)
6. Do you have an e-reader?
No. I couldn't stare at screen that long.
7. Do you prefer to read one book at a time, or several at once?
I prefer one at a time but I can read at least 2 at once
8. Have your reading habits changed since starting a blog?
Yes! I feel pressured to pay closer attention to what I'm reading rather than reading for the relaxation it gives me. It's still my favorite thing to do!
9. Least favorite book you've read this year (so far)?
The Tear Collector by Patrick Jones. It wasn't bad just my least fave. I'm still gonna read the sequel tho!
10. Favorite book you've read this year?
Bleeding Violet by Dia Reeves and Hearts at Stake by Alyxandra Harvey
11. How often do you read out of your comfort zone?
I go through phases and when I'm really into one genre, it's hard for me to hold interest in something different.

YA
13. Can you read on the bus?
I assume you mean the school bus? In that case no. I don't.
14. Favorite place to read?
My couch!
15. What is your policy on book lending?
Return it in the condition I give it to you in. If you don't, I expect compensation!
16. Do you ever dog-ear books?
Good book-lords, NO!
17. Do you ever write in the margins of your books?
Never.
18. Not even with text books?
I can't stand the destruction of ANY book
19. What is your favorite language to read in?
I'd have to say English. It's the only one I can read
20. What makes you love a book?
It has to completely take me away. When I'm reading it, I'm in that world until I close the book. I literally have to remind myself of who I am!
21. What will inspire you to recommend a book?
One I feel has something everyone can enjoy. Cliche, I know, but not as easy to accomplish!
22. Favorite genre?
Young-adult paranormal-romance
23. Genre you rarely read (but wished you did)?
Romance. Like Nora Roberts kind of romance. I've read a few saucy, cowboy romance novels and I loved them. Vampires just do more for me, I guess. Hm, what does that say?
24. Favorite biography?
I don't think I've actually read a biography? If I have, I don't remember.
25. Have you ever read a self-help book?
No way...I'm perfect!
26. Favorite cookbook?
Whatever recipe my mom writes down! They usually contain chicken.
27. Most inspirational book you've read this year (fiction or non-fiction)?
Liar by Justine Larbalestier. I used to lie a lot when I was younger and it always got me in trouble (still does whenever I do it now)! Reading all of the main characters lies just spoke to me and showed it to me coming from someone else.
28. Favorite reading snack?
Anything in my kitchen. I'm not a very picky junk food eater!
29. Name a case in which hype ruined your reading experience.
Linger by Maggie Stiefvater. I hate to say that too because Shiver was so amazing and I thought this one would be too but it didn't quite live up to it.
30. How often do you agree with critics about a book?
Almost never. I always think a book was better than they did. I'm always like "What? Are they crazy? That book was awesome!"
31. How do you feel about giving bad/negative reviews?
It's hard. Especially when I like the author's other book(s) but not this one. I always hope to like a book.
32. If you could read in a foreign language, which language would you choose?
French. I love that language!
33. Most intimidating book you've ever read?
Interview with a Vampire by Anne Rice. It's a classic so I wanted to like it, to be in-the-know with everyone else, but the truth is that, though it was artistically written, it bored me to tears.
34. Most intimidating book you're too nervous to begin?
Remember Me by Christopher Pike. That's a whole lotta book!
35. Favorite poet?
That's easy. Sara Teasdale. Look her up. Not very well known but her stuff is good.
36. How many books do you usually have checked out of the library at any given time?
None.
37. How often have you returned a book to the library unread?
Maybe a few times when I was younger
38. Favorite fictional character?
This was really hard and easy at the same time. Hannah from Bleeding Violet by Dia Reeves. She's out of her mind and funny as hell!
39. Favorite fictional villain?
Does bad boy count? Cause if so, I pick Damon from Vampire Diaries by L.J. Smith
40. Books I'm most likely to bring on vacation?
I went to Aruba in June and brought a book with me I'd been meaning to get to. I barely had any time to read so I don't think I'd bring a book next time.
41. The longest I've gone without reading.
I started reading steady again last October and I might go a week or so without reading. But before that it was years.
42. Name a book you could/would not finish.
I went through a true-crime book phase for a while and one book (I won't give the title) was about a 12 yr old boy who murdered boys younger than him. It was so disturbing I couldn't read anymore of it.
43. What distracts you easily when you're reading?
Depends on the book. When I read the Twilight books for the first time, I forgot I had a kid for a week! But I can get pulled away if I'm bored with it.
44. Favorite film adaptation of a novel?
I gotta say Eclipse. I've been waiting forever to get a visual of the tent scene! I love that book!
45. Most disappointing film adaptation?
I know it says film but I don't have one so I pick True Blood compared to the Sookie Stackhouse novels. Now hold on! I LOVE them both, truly, deeply. But the show doesn't follow the books and those are awesome, yet True Blood is my favorite show of all time!
46. The most money I ever spent in the bookstore at one time?
Probably 50-60. I try to save some for books still to come out!
47. How often do you skim a book before reading it?
I probably do it all the time. I don't think I always know I'm doing it. But I have a thing where, if I hate the characters names, sometimes I can't read the book! Petty, I know.
48. What would cause you to stop reading a book half-way through?
If I'm halfway through a book and I'm still waiting for the book to grab me or for something to happen, I feel like I'm wasting my time with this when I could be reading something better.
49. Do you like to keep your books organized?
Oh yes. Matching bookcases. Right now they are in order of vampire books, werewolf books, fairies, pixies, angels, and so forth! It's fun that way!
50. Do you prefer to keep books or give them away after you've read them?
I buy all my books, so they're mine. I'm just now starting to receive books from authors.
51. Are there any books you've been avoiding?
Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick and Fallen by Lauren Kate.I honestly don't know why. I don't doubt that they're good, I just keep putting them off.
52. Name a book that made you angry?
Tantalize by Cynthia Leitich Smith. I thought it was about a vampire and a werewolf and a girl and it was about a restaurant. Yeah I was mad after that. But the next one, Eternal, is one of my faves.
53. A book you didn't expect to like but did?
City of Bones by Cassandra Clare - like I need to tell you that. I picked up this book after turning away from it so many times but fell in LOVE by the end. Unbelievable.
54. A book that you expected to like but didn't?
The Host by Stephanie Meyer. I couldn't even finish it. Too many characters, too much back and forth, and it lost me. I put it down.
55. Favorite guilt-free pleasure reading?
Mmm, maybe paranormal romance short stories. At the end I feel like I've just read several books instead of one. If i don't like one story, no sweat, it'll be over soon and on to the next.
